I was at that game. After the game we were on the train waiting for it to leave the station at Southampton when the WHU team appeared standing on the next platform. Handed out some verbal. 6 bloody 2.

Yes it was, but the game is remembered more for the North Banks' last stand.

I moved from the CR to the BM (Upper) for the following season too.

That 3-3 was the last season of the Chicken Run as standing wasn't it?
I had that season there after the North Bank closed. Then moved to Bobby Moore & now Alpari.
Having done a full circuit the next move is out the door

Earliest memory was thinking how good Terry Paine was circa 1965 but my earliest vivid memory was going down to the Dell to watch us get a 6 -2 pasting. What a shithole that place was.

Yes cholo, the 0-4 spanking at the Dell in 1988.
Oh how we looked forward to David Kellys' debut.
The useless cunt.

Re: Memories of games Vs SOUTHAMPTON...
I was at Southampton Uni late 70s early 80s

I still remember a midweek evening game at the Dell 4-2 to the Hammers I think Paul Goddard got a hat-rrick - I could be wrong - but he certainly scored a couple of times.

Great game.

First ever game at Upton Park in 86-87 I think. Won 3-1.

Actually - fuck! Add 10 years on that, so no defence at all actually!) . I like Le Tiss too!

I agree, it wasn't my finest moment, tho in my defence I was only around 17 / 18 at the time.

Ricky Bobby 5:02 Thu Aug 28
Re: Memories of games Vs SOUTHAMPTON...
Ken MONKOU last-gasp own-goal in a 3-3 draw at our place in 93/94... Last game before the BM stand was built... Southampton somehow stayed-up again... They always used to beat the drop on the final day...

Le Tiss came on and completey changed the game in their favour... Lee Chapman pushing KM in the back then trying to claim the goal as his.

Still have the certificate hanging in the downstairs loo.

Last game, (with the North Bank), of the season. 3-3 it was, think Chapman scored!

Also away in the mid 90's. Seeing someone in their part of the ground, (next to us), who looked the spit of Terry Nutkins!! Singing, 'Terry, give us a wave, Terry, Terry, give us a wave!!'
Epic!

My first match always sticks, 2 goals in the last couple of minutes I left a couple of minutes early with my kid brother to avoid the crowds at 3-2 thinking what a great game and was hooked, then a slight roar went up as Southampton equalised, was disappointed, then a massive roar on Green St as Pop got the winner!

How cuttingly witty you come across. I see now where your posting name comes from.

You would certainly put the likes of Oscar Wilde or Dorothy Parker in their place.

Calling Mat Le Tissier a big nosed cunt when he came over to the touchline, from the front row of the west side, circa 1998. Heard it clearly and looked me straight in the face and me and my mates pissed ourselves.
